Dementia Australia is the national peak body supporting people living with dementia, their families and carers. The organisation delivers advocacy, education, services and research to improve outcomes for the community with a presence across every state and territory. As a leading voice in the sector, Dementia Australia influences national policy and drives awareness, while continuing to evolve its services to meet growing and changing community needs.


The opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director, People & Culture will lead the organisation’s people strategy and capability during a period of ongoing transformation. Working closely with the CEO and Executive, the role will drive alignment between strategy, structure and workforce capability, ensuring the organisation is well positioned to deliver on its strategic priorities. A key focus will be supporting the embedding of recent organisational change, strengthening leadership capability, and lifting organisational effectiveness through improved systems, processes and ways of working. The role will also play a critical part in shaping a high‑performing, values‑led culture, while balancing the need for operational efficiency and sustainable growth.


Key Responsibilities

* Support organisational design, workforce planning and change initiatives
* Strengthen leadership capability across the organisation
* Drive improvements in systems, processes and workforce data
* Oversee industrial relations and all relevant compliance frameworks


About you

You are a senior People & Culture leader based in Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra or Sydney with experience operating at executive level in complex, regulated, multi‑site organisations. You bring strong commercial judgement and a focus on organisational effectiveness, with experience strengthening systems, processes and workforce capability to improve performance. You will also have a sound understanding of regulated environments, compliance and continuous improvement. Aged Care and/or Disability experience will be highly regarded, but not essential.


You will bring

* Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and transformation
* Strong commercial acumen and a focus on organisational effectiveness
* Experience in regulated environments ensuring compliance and effective risk management while driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
* The ability to influence and collaborate at Executive and Board level
