The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. As an electrician, you’ll be the hero who keeps the lights on—literally.
About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.
Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides 24-hour corrective maintenance and breakdown service for the facilities around the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices.
The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will…..
* Complete all work assignments including delivery of Planned Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance activities. These work assignments also include minor new works approved by the facility, equipment replacements and new installations as required. Works are to be completed based on priorities and schedules issued by Trade Coordinator or Maintenance Manager.
* Maintain personal licences and any assigned annual training requirements to ensure that they are always current.
* Liaise with and work with staff, other government agencies and private contractors to ensure work is undertaken with minimal disruption to clients and other staff
