Job Description About the Opportunity:As Legal Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential legal and compliance advice to AACo to support and guide its operations and progression of strategic goals. With previous experience in commercial and corporate law, the Legal Counsel will partner with the business to proactively build networks and positively influence stakeholders to ensure AACo's continued success. The Legal Counsel will support the work of the legal team to drive continual improvement across governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing, commercially minded, collaborative legal team at AACo, a 200-year-old company, and play a role in the development and delivery of the future strategic direction. This role offers the opportunity and support to grow and advance within a legal team that is valued across the business.The position will provide the opportunity for occasional travel across AACo's iconic Australian pastoral properties.Your key responsibilities will include:Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, employment and safety law, marketing, sales and distribution, intellectual property, research and innovation ventures, property law, and risk management.Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements across all parts of the business.Working in conjunction with the legal team and Human Resources team to support the delivery of the people strategy, which underpins the next chapter of AACo's 200-year journeyAssisting in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures as required.Supporting the company secretariat function, including the implementation and continual improvement of corporate governance policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective governance.Working with the legal team to oversee and engage with external legal counsel as required, including instructing, supervising, and effectively communicating legal advice within the broader business. Desired Skills and Experience What you will bring to this role:4 + years of post-qualification experience.Bachelor of Laws and admission to practise in an Australian State or Territory.Previous experience working in any key area of AACo's business, including property, corporate, employment, commercial and environment, and/or inhouse in an ASX-listed environment, will be looked on favourably.Ability to work with and influence senior management stakeholders.An innovative mindset, capable of problem-solving and idea development.Highly developed communication and relationship-building skills.An adaptable and agile mindset with the ability to manage legal matters of all sizes and levels of complexity.Thrive on continuous learning and growth opportunities!Occasional travel opportunitiesCompetitive salary and flexible working arrangements.Enjoy regular employee events.Apply Now to join the AACo Team!We hope this overview has provided you with valuable insight into AACo.
