About the role:
Our client is seeking a motivated
Assistant Accountant
to join their growing finance team based in
Crows Nest
(they will offer 1 day Working From Home and is very close to the Crows Nest Metro). This role offers a great opportunity to build strong technical accounting skills while gaining exposure to a variety of day-to-day finance functions within a supportive and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid Excel abilities, and crucial
SAP
experience, with confidence working across multiple systems and data sources. Our client is a 3leader in high-performance sportswear, distributing to over 30 countries. Experience with stock or warehouse inventory management is a bonus, but they're open to candidates
Note: Please do not hesitate to apply as this is an immediate start role and our client is looking to interview candidates asap. Given this role will initially start as a 6 month temp role (with potential to extend) they are also open to Working Holiday Visa's (WHV) who have full working rights, ready to start immediately and based in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Treasury Support
Process and allocate daily cash receipts.
Set up new customers in SAP, ensuring accuracy of master data.
Release orders for distributor and wholesale customers.
Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
Systems & Data Management
Work extensively in SAP for transactional processing.
Use advanced Excel skills to manage and transfer data between the online store platform and SAP.
Maintain data integrity across multiple systems and assist with troubleshooting discrepancies.
General Accounting Support
Assist with Accounts Payable.
Assist with month-end tasks and journal preparation as required.
Support internal teams with finance-related queries.
Contribute to process improvements and documentation across accounting functions.
About You
Prior experience in a similar role.
SAP experience is essential
.
Confident with Excel (lookups, data cleaning, reconciliations, intermediate formulas).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
Based in Crows Nest with 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH, and a very short walk from Crows Nest Metro
Supportive finance team with growth and learning opportunities.
Exposure to both operational and system-related accounting tasks.
