Victorian School Redress and Litigation Support Role
A junior legal professional will provide support in the Victorian schools' redress and litigation matters, offering timely and high-quality legal advice on tort law, duty of care, and child safety.
About the Position
* Support the department's provision of timely and accurate legal advice on non-litigated and litigated negligence claims made by Victorian government schools.
* Assist in responding to the National Redress Scheme requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of tort law and/or experience in managing negligence litigation claims, including risk management and duty of care principles. Additionally, they should have some familiarity with current child safety reporting guidelines.
This role offers flexible working arrangements, allowing for part-time employment, flexible start and finish times, and work-from-home options.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing high-quality legal advice to support the department's response to negligence claims
• Collaborating with stakeholders to develop effective strategies for addressing child safety concerns
• Maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices related to tort law and child safety
