SOCIAL WORKER – Bendigo / Mildura

* Bendigo Based with regional travel as required
* 2 to 4 days per week (15-30.4 hours) per week with flexibility for hours to work around your practice | Contract until March 2025
* Supportive Environment.

The Social Worker will provides support to Shine Bright EYM by facilitating reflection groups at a service level. Increase staff capability and confidence in working with challenging behaviours by identifying and implementing skills and strategies to be used in an intentional manner. You will be responsible for implementing creative interventions, including Art and /or Play Therapy that contribute to the emotional, social, and psychological well-being and self-regulation of Shine Bright staff, children, families and communities. As a part of this role you will be required to provide wellbeing support and critical incident debriefing in consultation with the Allied Health Co-Ordinator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

* Communicate with all team members and relevant management to achieve the Shine Bright Way, Vision, Mission, Strategic Goals and School Readiness (SRF) Plans of the organisation.
* Facilitate reflective practice sessions with educators as part of the SRF service delivery.
* Discuss, identify and implement interventions to meet the wellbeing needs and work priorities.
* Upskill staff to increase their capability and confidence in working in developing emotional and social wellbeing including the ability to co-regulatewith children experiencing challenging behaviours.
* Timely provision of wellbeing support and critical incident debriefing for staff following an event or incident.
* Support culture of continuous improvement and research-based evidence.
* Keep an up-to-date calendar of activities undertaken and time allocation at services

To achieve the following evidence-based outcomes:

* Staff wellbeing, staff will be effective in their positions
* Increase children's engagement in educational programs
* Staff incorporate new strategies into their practice to support children's executive function with a focus on self regulation and,
* staff are able to provide families with strategies to support their child's social and emotional skills development at home.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIEINCE

* Degree in Social Work
* Demonstrated experience and ability to work with people and young children
* Demonstrated experience and ability to use a variety of creative interventions to achieve goals
* Demonstrated experience in facilitating reflective practice groups and an understanding of critical reflection principles and frameworks.
* Proven ability to inspire trust and provide an open atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
* Highly resourceful team player with the ability to work independently.
* Current Working With Childrens Check and Police Check
* Hold a Victoria Drives License.
