CatholicCare NT is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counsellor to join thir dynamic team in Katherine, NT. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high quality, responsive and culturally appropriate counselling and groupwork services to children, young people, adults and families.
About the Role
* Working within a cohesive and integrated team, you will:
* Support and strengthen family relationships
* Prevent relationship breakdown and enhance wellbeing
* Assist couples and families to manage complex issues, including family violence
* Support children and young people following parental separation
* Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including:
* Family therapy
* Individual counselling
* Group programs
* Information, support and referral
Our counselling programs focus on critical family development and transition points including formation, extension and separation.
You may also contribute to programs such as:
* Family & Relationship Service (FaRS)
* Counselling – Catholic School Students
* Employment Assistance Program
About You
* To be successful, you will have:
* Qualification in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology
* Eligibility for membership with ACA, APS, AASW or PACFA
* Demonstrated experience working with children, young people, adults and families
* Experience delivering a broad range of evidence-based counselling and group work approaches
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including case management and case note writing
* Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
