We are looking for an Apprentice Chef's to join our busy teams. We have two amazing venues - one in the City [The Garden Room - Roma Street Parkland] and one by the River [ RIVA Kitchen | Events - in Hamilton].
Our kitchen works at a fast pace and work schedules will include weekends.
You will need to be passionate about food, career driven and a team player.
Training for an apprentice cook covers basic culinary skills, knife skills, knowledge of ingredients, use of commercial equipment and kitchen procedures. Not just busy cafes, our venues also are popular event locations and you will receive experience in fine dining, canapé service, conference and banqueting.
Your Main Duties Include But Not Limited To
* Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of meals.
* Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
* Working under the supervision of the chef.
* Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
* Serves food when required.
* Kitchen cleaning, such as dish washing and equipment cleaning, sanitation.
* Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage.
