Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for a ANUM to join our growing team on an ongoing part‐time (0.8EFT) basis.

This is a key leadership role supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in delivering high‐quality, evidence‐based mental health care while fostering a safe, supportive, and recovery‐focused environment for both patients and staff.

About the Role

As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide clinical leadership and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of person‐centred care. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating clinical services, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational standards.

A strong focus of this role is driving recovery‐oriented, non‐punitive, and non‐coercive practices, including reducing the use of seclusion and restraint, while maintaining excellence in patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide clinical leadership in assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation
* Support the Nurse Unit Manager with human, financial, and operational management
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and policies
* Lead and support staff through coaching, supervision, and development
* Monitor and respond to clinical risks, incidents, and quality improvement initiatives
* Contribute to audits, reporting, and data‐driven decision making
* Promote a safe workplace culture and staff wellbeing

About you

You are a confident and compassionate leader with strong clinical expertise in mental health. You bring a collaborative approach, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and patient‐centred care.

You will have

* Registration as a Division 1 (with postgraduate mental health qualification) or Division 3 Nurse with AHPRA
* Minimum 5 years' clinical experience, including demonstrated leadership capability
* Strong knowledge of mental health legislation and standards
* Experience in staff supervision, change management, and quality improvement
* Highly developed interpersonal and decision‐making skills
* Commitment to recovery‐oriented practice and reducing restrictive interventions

Requirements

* Current AHPRA registration
* Working With Children Check and Police Check
* Compliance with immunisation requirements (Category A)
* Current Basic Life Support competency
