ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a part‐time (0.6 FTE) Payroll Officer to join our Finance team and support the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services across the School. The Payroll Officer is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of the School's payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll and employee entitlements. This position has become available following the upcoming retirement of the School's current Payroll Officer, who has served Maranatha Christian School with dedication.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider Finance team, this role plays an important part in supporting staff and maintaining strong financial governance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the end‐to‐end payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing of payroll and employee entitlements
* Ensuring compliance with PAYG, superannuation, and relevant taxation and superannuation legislation
* Reviewing and approving timesheets, maintaining payroll records, and responding professionally to payroll‐related staff enquiries
* Assisting with associated finance activities as required, including managing creditor payments and responding to related enquiries
ABOUT THE PERSON
This role would suit an experienced payroll professional who is well organised, discreet and service‐focused. The successful applicant will bring demonstrated payroll and accounting experience, ideally within an education or non‐for‐profit environment, along with strong systems capability and advanced Excel skills. They will be professional, trustworthy and detail‐oriented, with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to confidentiality and service.
