Description


AKD are seeking an experienced and driven individual to join our team in the position of Caboolture Drymill Supervisor in our Drymill/Treatment Plant, reporting to the Further Processing Manager. This position will efficiently oversee and coordinate all Drymill activities, ensuring the attainment of safety, quality, cost and throughput objectives as outlined in Caboolture's Operational Business Plan.

The leader will be focused on creating a zero-harm safety culture, driving a high performing team and executing on performance expectations. This position would suit a motivated individual that has experience in managing people and driving performance outcomes, and who is ambitious, and career orientated.

This position will be responsible for

1. Efficiently oversee and coordinate all Drymill activities, ensuring the attainment of safety, quality, cost, and throughput objectives as outlined in Caboolture's Operational Business Plan.
2. Optimize production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to production team members, fostering a positive work culture and high-performance standards.
3. Ensure that all team members possess the necessary qualifications, licenses, and training to fulfill their role responsibilities effectively.
4. Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and maintenance, to resolve any production-related issues promptly.
5. Support and actively participate in projects aimed at advancing key initiatives and/or enhancing business operations.

We believe the position will best suit someone with strong experience in production or people management. Exposure to the timber industry will be an advantage for the position.

The successful candidate must be willing to challenge and enhance existing processes and systems and be a team orientated person with strong communication and influencing skills who is self-motivated, and solutions driven.

Key duties & responsibilities:

6. Managing and driving performance of our Caboolture Drymill
7. Leading and developing a strong team to achieve performance while maintaining our Zero Harm culture
8. Continually improve housekeeping standards across the process
9. Influence stakeholders to achieve business outcomes
10. Support and assist with the effective implementation of the AKD Strategy
11. Drive continual improvement and instil it into the culture
12. Analyse performance trends and take early actions
13. Continually develop an engaged workforce that feel rewarded for effort
14. Develop the people around you and establish a succession plan
