Responsibilities
* Greet patient on arrival and on phone
* Opening and closing of practice
* Cover Annual and sick leave
* Verify and update personal and Medicare details
* Manage patient registration, transfer of records, my medicare enrolment and recent patient forms
* Book, reschedule, and cancel appointments using Best Practice software
* Manage recalls, reminders, and follow-up appointments
* Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately
* Provide information regarding clinic services, billing, and practitioner availability
* Handle general patient inquiries and concerns
* Process payments (EFTPOS, Medicare rebates via HICAPS or online claiming
* Manage private, bulk billing, Work cover, TAC and DVA claims
* Issue invoices and receipts
* Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality
* File test results and correspondence
* Prepare documents for scanning or mailing
* Send referrals, reports, and documents to specialists, hospitals, and allied health professionals
* Chase results with pathology and imaging providers
* Monitor waiting area and ensure it is clean and organised
* Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes
* Order office and medical supplies as required
* Comply with infection control procedures
* Uphold patient confidentiality and data security
* Assist with accreditation processes
* Support doctors, nurses, and other staff as needed
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions
