Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global services. The team keeps the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on some of the most challenging problems involving thousands of variables that impact the supply chain and we are looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key Responsibilities
* Processing legacy hardware out of the data centre facilities in India
* Moving large enterprise equipment
* Lifting up to 15 kg
* Hard‐drive removal and destruction
* Creating and attaching labels and barcodes
* Working with basic PC components and hardware such as HDD, SSD, flash, removable storage media and USB/FireWire/Esata
A Day in the Life
You will work on the decommission of data centre infrastructure including racks, servers and networking equipment following established SOPs as per workflow and ticket‐based environment. Perform hardware operations such as rack installation, migration and systematic problem resolution. Maintain site organization and cleanliness while demonstrating strong troubleshooting abilities. Physical requirements include lifting and racking equipment up to 15 kg, potentially working in confined spaces or elevated locations.
