Part-time, 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
Salary: $101,498 to $114,243 (dependent on skills + experience) pro rata + 12% superannuation
Fixed term: 6 July 2026 to 9 July 2027
About The Role
At the City of Melbourne, our Community Wellbeing branch is dedicated to fostering a socially inclusive community where wellbeing, belonging and participation are central to quality of life. This fixed‐term opportunity ensures continuity of service delivery while the substantive role occupant is on parental leave. Our neighbourhood centres play a vital role in supporting older people to remain connected, active and engaged in their communities.
As a community‐focused Centre Coordinator, you will lead operations across three sites to support positive outcomes for older people.
Working Across Three Sites You Will
* Manage daily operations to ensure centres are safe, welcoming and responsive to the needs of older people
* Provide leadership, guidance and support to Centre Support Workers
* Oversee OH&S and coordinate facilities maintenance to ensure safe and accessible environments
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with community groups and organisations
* Support equitable access and maximise community use of neighbourhood centres
* Manage and resolve complex issues involving centre users and stakeholders
About You
You are a community-focused and collaborative leader with experience managing community facilities and supporting diverse stakeholders.
What Your Experience Might Look Like – Key Selection Criteria
* Experience managing community centres, facilities or similar service environments
* Demonstrated ability to lead and support staff in a multi-site or complex setting
* Strong understanding of OH&S requirements and facilities coordination
* Experience building partnerships with community groups and stakeholders
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities and resolve complex issues
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
