Women’s House is an initial point of contact for women, trans and gender diverse folks experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We strive towards offering a safe and supportive space that offers brief intervention housing support as well as showers, laundry, hot meals and social inclusion. We interpret individual's experiences within a systematic framework that acknowledges external factors that perpetuate disadvantage; we commit to advocacy and action towards a more equitable and just society for the women, trans and gender diverse folks we support.

Your day-to-day

* Using Trauma-Informed Care practices to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
* Offering assertive crisis intervention and service coordination, including responding to those with complex goals.
* Providing short-term case management (up to six weeks) for participants in crisis.
* Working collaboratively with internal and external service providers to ensure continuity of care.

We're looking for someone

* With a minimum: diploma or degree qualifications relevant to the delivery of community services.
* With experience working in homelessness, mental health and/or community settings.
* With excellent communication skills who collaborates well as part of a team.
* Committed to working within a person-centered, strength’s based and culturally responsive practice.
* Able to demonstrate de-escalation and effective response tactics towards challenging behaviour and crisis situations.

You can look forward to

* Permanent fulltime position: Monday to Friday, 8am-4:06pm.
* Pay classification Social and Community Services Employee Level 4 ($44-47 per hour, dependent on experience and qualification).
* Salary packaging expenses like your rent, holiday accommodation and dining out: up to $15,990 pre-tax.
* Generous leave entitlements such as 17.5% leave loading, Christmas/ New Years 3 days ex gratia leave, wellbeing leave, and gender affirmation leave.

* A supportive work environment: regular line manager direct supervision, clinical group reflective practice, Psychological First Aid, EAP, Community of Practice spaces.
