Join the School of Graduate Research and play a key role in advancing research education at CQUniversity. In this role, you will deliver inspiring teaching within the Graduate Certificate in Research and/or Research Higher Degree (RHD) courses – supporting students through lectures, tutorials, seminars, online residential schools and supervision of postgraduate research projects. You will contribute to course development, assessment, and the ongoing enhancement of curriculum materials, while also undertaking research aligned with your expertise. Working collaboratively with colleagues, research supervisors and students, you will help create a energetic learning environment that encourages academic excellence and innovation. Beyond teaching and research, you will engage in professional activities, provide input into the School’s planning and initiatives, and represent the School through meetings, committees and promotional events. This role offers the opportunity to grow your academic career while making a meaningful impact on the success of emerging researchers.

Location and salary details: Continuing, Part-Time (0.8FTE – 58hrs/fortnight) at CQUniversity Rockhampton; other CQUniversity locations negotiable (except SEQ region). Relocation support available. Total remuneration $107,908 to $126,296 per annum (including salary of $91,184 to $106,722 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).

Responsibilities

- Deliver teaching within the Graduate Certificate in Research and/or Research Higher Degree (RHD) courses – through lectures, tutorials, seminars, online residential schools and supervision of postgraduate research projects.
- Contribute to course development, assessment, and ongoing curriculum enhancement; align activities with the School and University priorities.
- Undertake research aligned with your expertise; engage in external grants and contracts where appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues, research supervisors and students to foster a dynamic learning environment that supports academic excellence and innovation.
- Engage in professional activities and represent the School in meetings, committees and promotional events.

Position Requirements

- A PhD in a relevant discipline.
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to complete a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching/Education.
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake research in areas of strength, with willingness to pursue external grants and contracts.
- Proven ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Experience in curriculum development, design and evaluation, with emphasis on flexible delivery modes.
- Willingness to contribute to School and University-wide administrative activities (desirable).
