Overview
This is a temporary role as a Medical Secretary at Emerald Place Clinic, a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to 18 with a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.
The role involves providing administrative support to the medical team, including managing diaries, planning meetings, updating records, and liaising with external agencies.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Registered Clinician with letters and general documentation
- Supporting all meetings as minute taker as requested chaired by the Medical Director, SMT or ad hoc
- Receiving and recording typing, checking, and amending for spelling and grammatical errors, completing within given deadlines
- Participating in the administration, development and evaluation of regulatory matters
- Co-ordinating the hospital diary and the whereabouts of the clinicians
- Booking in meetings
- Arranging conference calls
Qualifications
- IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience of audio typing
- Communication and organisational skills
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent
- Knowledge of mental health and medications

Emerald Place, Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Surrey, RH6 0BN. Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Elysium Healthcare have worked in partnership to provide a new purpose-built Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Surrey.
Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people admitted to the unit have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.
These could include Mental Health conditions such as mood disorders and acute psychosis; co-existing needs may include neurodevelopmental disorders, mild learning disabilities or autism; some cases may involve disordered eating.
