The Role
This role will report into the Utilities Electrical Supervisor and will support the safety, reliable operation, maintenance, and longer-term integrity of various assets including:
1. Site-wide HV power distribution maintenance
2. Site-wide water extraction including bore fields and In Pit de-watering instrumentation
3. Electrical maintenance on our generator fleet
4. Tailing’s discharge and pump maintenance
5. Laboratory instrumentation maintenance
6. Vehicle wash down facilities, including oily water separators and pumps
7. Sewage facilities
8. Dump leach maintenance
9. Statutory electrical testing and building maintenance
Other accountabilities of the role include:
* Maintain high standards of performance and adopt a proactive approach to occupational health and safety issues
* Monitoring and reporting on the status of electrical plant and equipment
* Ensure all electrical work complies with AS/NZ, WAER, WHSA, WHSR & Telfer Electrical Safety Management Plan: --SA-PLA-
* Ensure compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations
* Maintain good working relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates, and all internal as well as external clients, such as contractors, suppliers, and service providers
Please note: This is a full-time FIFO role from Perth on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, flying on Thursdays.
Required skills and experiences:
* A grade Electrical Licence
* Post-trade experience with extensive exposure to large-scale mining with Utility or Process plant operations & maintenance
* Experience in high voltage maintenance, reading drawings & completing switching programs
* Competent computer skills – proficient in SAP or similar computerized maintenance management system and Microsoft package
* Demonstrated track record in continuous improvement of assets
* Preparedness to accept change and develop new skills and competencies
* Senior First Aid ticket
* LV rescue/CPR ticket
* HV Switching ticket
* Australian working rights
Desirable but not essential experiences:
* Cert IV Instrumentation
* EWPF
* Forklift
* Working at Heights
* HR
