Senior Linux Security Specialist
Canonical is seeking a seasoned security professional to join our engineering team. As a Senior Linux Security Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge security features, leading security-oriented thinking in product engineering teams, and analyzing vulnerabilities in Canonical and open source software.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern engineering techniques to find and fix security vulnerabilities, familiarity with open source development tools and methodologies, and experience working with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
You will work closely with other Canonical engineering and development teams, customers, and partners across the open source community to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our users.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and document new security features
* Lead security-oriented thinking in product engineering teams
* Analyze, fix, and test vulnerabilities in Canonical and open source software
* Contribute to Ubuntu and upstream projects to benefit the community
Requirements
* Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
* Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
* Thorough understanding of common categories of security vulnerabilities
* Modern engineering techniques to find and fix them
