Senior Control Systems Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced control systems engineer to join our dynamic team in Mackay. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in delivering innovative automation solutions across a range of complex and rewarding projects.
About the Role
This position involves engaging directly with clients to define project requirements and develop clear scopes of work, leading the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of advanced control system solutions, ensuring all project deliverables meet high standards of quality, safety, and timeliness, providing expert-level technical support and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships, and promoting and contributing to a culture focused on health, safety, environment, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define project requirements and develop clear scopes of work for clients
* Lead the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of advanced control system solutions
* Ensure all project deliverables meet high standards of quality, safety, and timeliness
* Provide expert-level technical support and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
* Promote and contribute to a culture focused on health, safety, environment, and quality
Requirements
* A minimum of five years' experience in control systems engineering within heavy industry or similar environments
* Strong client engagement skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
* Proven experience with control systems, automation platforms, and industrial communication networks
* A current Australian driver's licence
Preferred Qualifications and Attributes:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
* Demonstrated experience in programming and commissioning control systems
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
