We are seeking a seasoned legal expert to fill the role of General Counsel. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and support to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Job Description
This is an ongoing, full-time position that requires a high level of expertise in legal matters. On a day-to-day basis, you will:
* Provide general legal advice and assistance to various stakeholders, including senior executives and the Board.
* Oversee the development, negotiation, and implementation of contracts and other legal agreements.
* Effectively manage our property portfolio, including freehold and leasehold properties.
* Prepare, negotiate, and maintain land leases, licenses, and agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Liaising with external experts to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Maintaining accurate records of all legal agreements and contracts.
* Providing timely and effective legal advice to support business operations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A law degree, preferably with admission to legal practice in Victoria.
* Relevant experience, ideally within the public sector.
* Demonstrated experience in leading, motivating, and developing teams.
