Pacific Energy Group Australia seeks experienced WELDER/BOILERMAKER to join our workshop, yard and field team in QLD on a full time and permanent basis.
The Role Join the Project Delivery Team in the construction of thermal power stations throughout Australia. This is a diverse Welder/Boilermaker role, which offers a range of opportunities, not just straight fabrication. If you like a bit of variety in your working life, then this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine the requirements for the job. Perform fabrication and repair works on various metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints Work with variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines. Perform appropriate type of weld - base on project needs and specifications Use various hand and power tools, such as welding torches, grinders, saws, and drills, to cut, shape, and join metal pieces. Install and repair components and or various other material structures. Conduct routine maintenance on workshop components and other equipment to ensure proper functioning. Assist other site teams wherever needed to deliver their mechanical and electrical works Ensure that all work is done according to safety guidelines and regulations. Communicate with team members to ensure the project is completed on time and to the required standards. Keep a record of all work performed and materials used. Maintain a clean and organised work area. Participate in safety meetings and training programs, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with OHS policies. Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You: Relevant Trade Certification. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a boilermaker or in a related field. Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications. Proficient in Mig and Tig welding Mechanical fitting experience desirable. Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools. Knowledge of safety guidelines and regulations. Ability to work in a team environment. Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and equipment. Excellent communication skills.
