As part of this commitment, reporting to theProcessing Manager and supported by the Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE) for Australia, the purpose of the role is to ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence in the management of Tailings Storage Facilities across all phases of their lifecycle, from planning and design through to closure and rehabilitation.
This position is offered as a site-based role on a fly-in and fly-out basis from Perth. The roster is 8 days on and 6 days off. Time will also be spent at the Perth corporate office on an as-and-when basis to collaborate with the Group tailings team and external consultants in terms of governance and technical oversight.

What You'll Do?
As a Technical Specialist, you will:
- Serve as an essential on-the-ground resource to support the Processing Manager and RTFE with the practical aspects of tailings management.
- Facilitate direct, actionable support in implementing strategies, executing plans, and resolving challenges related to the daily operational management of Tailings Storage Facilities.
- Conduct routine and emergency inspections and oversee surveillance and monitoring to align with design intent and performance objectives.
- Assist with the development of tender documents, provide input into the TSF construction tender processes, provide input on construction documentation, and ensure adherence to QA/QC activities.
- Proactively identify and manage tailings-specific risks, maintain critical controls, and contribute to the management of environmental risks associated with the TSFs.
- Ensure compliance with dam operational design intent, applicable dam safety regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Establish and maintain a formal relationship with the Engineer of Record (EoR) through regular meetings, ensuring clear communication and coordination.

What will You Contribute to the Team?
- Possess a bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive displayed experience in project, civil or geotechnical engineering.
- Experience coordinating engineering projects, site investigations, mining-related construction and commissioning projects.
- Working knowledge of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).
- Practical knowledge of IT engineering systems that analyse slope stability, seepage, hydraulic modelling, and deposition modelling (e.g., GeoStudio, Rocscience, Muk3D).
- A valid manual Driver's Licence.
- Proven problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
