Overview
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to assist the head chef in managing our kitchen team. This is an above-award salaried position with varying shifts over seven days, depending on the needs of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, being responsible for all kitchen processes and management.
Responsibilities
* Controlling and directing the food preparation and any other relative activities.
* Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food.
* Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff.
* Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen.
* Creating new dishes and planning menus.
* Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation.
* Plan orders of equipment and ingredients according to identified shortages.
* Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience as a Chef.
* Highly developed communication and leadership skills.
* Proven ability of kitchen management.
* Up to date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
* Credentials in health and safety training.
