Job Summary
Supervisory field construction role responsible for the Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls disciplines on a full‐time EPC project at the Eva Copper Mine Project in Cloncurry, QLD. Duties include directing contractor activities, supervising subordinate superintendents, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety legislation, and acting as the primary site contact for electrical operations.
This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical and administrative direction to subordinate superintendents, field staff and other personnel.
* Register as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for Bechtel's Electrical Contractor licence in Queensland – certification costs are covered by Bechtel.
* Manage field construction operations within the assigned discipline(s) and area(s).
* Determine workforce requirements and coordinate established area operational plans.
* Monitor work activities to ensure quality and adherence to current design documentation.
* Ensure all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
* Approve direct‐report time records using automated tools and prepare forecasts of construction progress, personnel, and expenditures.
* Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance and quality standards.
* Conduct employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with local safety codes, requirements and standards within the area of responsibility.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge & Skills
* Experience in developing execution and construction scopes of work and strategies.
* Sound knowledge of the Queensland Mining Act and regulations.
* Experience with communication, controls and hazardous areas (advantage).
* Experience with contract formation and administration.
* Experience managing EPC direct‐hire teams.
* Extensive background in mining construction projects, client relationship management and talent development.
* Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety & Health (ES&H).
* Sound understanding of performance‐management processes such as Six Sigma.
* Advanced skills in production management, including scheduling.
* Advanced knowledge of cost management, estimating and forecast development.
