**About the position**
The Manager Governance and Risk has responsibility for leading Council’s governance and risk functions providing high level strategic, legislative and operational advice to assist the organisation to implement best practice governance and enterprise frameworks. This position manages a team of professionals, including Integrated Planning and Reporting, Internal Audit, Records Management, Policies and Procedures and Business Improvement.

**About you**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Corporate Governance, Public Administration or significant experience in local government or a related field.
- Experience, understanding and appreciation of Local Government’s role in the community, in the structure of government and in governance, business improvement and risk management.
- A broad knowledge of regional issues and familiarity with key government agencies, business organisations and stakeholder groups.
- Proven experience in Integrated Planning and Reporting.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work within timeframes and meet deadlines.
- Experience in undertaking and analysing reports and preparing complex written documents.
- Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities (above).
- Demonstrated **Advanced** key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (above).
