The Production Department is a critical function of our business, responsible for the cleaning, filling and emptying of growing rooms to support strong yields, quality outcomes and cost-effective operations.
About the Role
This is an ongoing, practical and physically active supervisory role where you will lead by example. You'll coordinate and participate in the emptying and cleaning of production rooms following crop cycles, ensuring all areas are cleaned, sanitised, and ready for the next stage of production.
You will work closely with the Production Manager while supporting and guiding your team to meet daily schedules and maintain strong WHS, hygiene, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and lead a team of 6–8 employees during early morning emptying and cleaning operations
* Allocate daily tasks and manage team workflows to meet production timelines
* Work hands-on alongside the team in emptying and deep cleaning activities
* Oversee cleaning and sanitation of production rooms, floors, walls, drains, and equipment
* Ensure cleaning procedures are followed correctly and safely
* Enforce PPE use and safe chemical handling practices
* Train, support, and coach team members in SOPs and safe work practices
* Monitor work quality, attendance, and performance, addressing issues promptly
* Maintain cleaning records and support audits and inspections
About You
* Willing and able to work early morning starts (3am–5am)
* Background in industrial, agricultural, or production environments
* Proven experience supervising or leading teams of similar size
* Comfortable in a hands‐on, physical role
* Strong focus on safety, hygiene, and quality
* Reliable, organised, and confident managing people
* No mushroom production experience required — training provided
