About the Position
This part-time permanent role is ideal for those looking to start their career in administration within a friendly and supportive team environment. The position involves 25 hours per week of work.
Key Responsibilities
* You will be a compassionate, optimistic individual wanting to make a difference in people's lives, especially in our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
* Possess a Cert 3 in Business Administration or have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated administrative industry experience.
* Have a 'can do' approach to life and work and have previously worked in a community admin role.
* Essential interpersonal skills with a willingness to assist and support others in a team environment.
* Sound organisational skills and computer skills are also required, with high attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver timely outcomes under limited supervision and strong organisational skills.
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a high level of written communication skills with a proven ability to prepare/take meeting minutes.
* Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience using computers, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and an understanding of the concerns affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, as well as a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Practical Requirements
* Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
* Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card – essential.
