About the role:
The Custodial Health Service [CHS] is a state-wide health service, overseeing the healthcare needs of all people in care or custody of Victoria Police. The Pharmacy and Health Information Manager is a full-time ongoing position within Victoria Police working closely with the CHS health management team.
Reporting to the Chief Custodial Medical Officer, the successful applicant will lead the pharmacy and health information teams in providing timely and safe services. In addition, they will be accountable for the legal and ethical operation of pharmacy in accordance with the DH Permit, License and Registration requirements, and the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981 (DPCS Act) and Regulations.
The position is located primarily at the Melbourne Custody Centre with a requirement for travel to other Victoria Police facilities. The role has clinical and managerial responsibilities and is supported by a team of Pharmacists, Health Information Officers, and Administrative Support staff.
Your duties will include:
* Leadership and management of pharmacy and health information staff
* Oversight of pharmacy expenditure
* Staff resourcing including liaison with Human Resources / Workplace Relations Division as required
* Act as Contract Monitor of external pharmacies contracted to Victoria Police custody locations
* Active participation in quality and safety initiatives including implementation of the Clinical Governance Framework
* Attendance at regional Victoria Police facilities and community pharmacies on a regular basis
* Involvement in management team meetings and business decisions
As the successful applicant, you will have:
* Current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA (with no conditions)
* A high level of clinical competency
* Demonstrated experience in people management and development
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously

* This position requires some regional travel
* Australian Drivers Licence
* Medical indemnity insurance
