Description:
Warwick Community Corrections Reporting Centre is seeking a Probation Services Officer. This position ensures a high level of community safety by supervising and case managing offenders to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and conditions of community-based orders and reparation orders.
The role also involves court administration duties and maintaining community networks and stakeholder relationships to support sustainable community service projects.
This position is regional, with accommodation and entitlements provided through the Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RAIS) for eligible applicants. Travel to out-center reporting locations will be required, with expenses paid.
Essential Requirements:
* Planning and organizing skills to complete tasks within deadlines, working autonomously and in a team.
* Interpersonal and negotiation skills to support service delivery with internal and external stakeholders.
* Sensitivity and confidentiality awareness, with a commitment to legislative compliance regarding privacy.
* Strong communication skills, experience in difficult conversations, problem-solving, and negotiating resolutions.
Qualifications and Conditions:
* No mandatory qualification; however, degree-qualified graduates in human services disciplines are highly regarded.
* Possession of a C class license is required, especially in locations where it is essential.
* All employees must complete a Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community) within 12 months of employment, achieving certification within 18 months.
* Training relevant to the role, including urinalysis testing and court duties, will be provided.
