About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate, and enthusiastic BI/Data Analyst to join our MEDLOG IT Team. As a BI/Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in database automation, dashboard design and development, and data analysis, enabling our company to make informed decisions based on accessible, intuitive, and accurate data, thereby supporting our growth and success.
Responsibilities
1. BI Report Development
o Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data visualisation needs.
o Design and develop visually appealing and interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.
o Utilise data modelling techniques to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
o Implement best practices for report design, ensuring ease of use and optimal performance.
o Ensure data accuracy and integrity by validating data sources and performing data quality checks.
2. Dashboard Design and Optimization
o Create intuitive and user‑friendly dashboards that effectively present key metrics and trends.
o Implement interactive features such as drill‑down, filters, and slicers to enhance user experience.
o Optimize dashboard performance by analysing and fine‑tuning data queries and visualisation techniques.
o Conduct usability testing and gather feedback from end users to continuously improve dashboards.
3. Database Management
o Understand database structures and query languages to retrieve relevant data for reporting.
o Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data availability, integrity, and security.
4. Troubleshooting and Support
o Investigate and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, dashboards, and data connectivity.
o Provide timely and effective responses to user inquiries and problem reports.
o Document and track support requests, resolutions, and recurring issues to identify improvement opportunities.
o Conduct user training and create documentation to enhance user self‑sufficiency.
About you
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Commerce, Business or a relevant discipline, OR extensive industry practical experience and demonstrated knowledge in the required discipline.
* Experience performing complex analytical and problem‑solving activities, including identifying potential issues, business improvement opportunities and presenting research findings to management.
* Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills for complex analysis and design.
* Strong understanding of database concepts and experience with Microsoft SQL development.
* Experience with SQL Integration Services and SQL Analysis Services development within Microsoft Visual Studio.
* Experience with developing reports from non‑SQL data sources (e.g., API, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics).
* Excellent presentation skills – ability to write and speak clearly to communicate complex ideas in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide support to end users.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
* Experience with other BI tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
* Experience building/maintaining workflows within Power Automate.
* Experience in the supply chain, logistics industry and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
