About the role
We are currently seeking experienced, passionate and enthusiastic BI/Data Analyst to join our MEDLOG IT Team. As a BI/Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in database automation, dashboard design and development and data analysis. Allowing our company to make informed decisions based on accessible, intuitive and accurate data, allowing our company to continue to grow and succeed.
Responsibilities:
1. BI Report Development:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data visualization needs.
* Design and develop visually appealing and interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.
* Utilise data modeling techniques to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
* Implement best practices for report design, ensuring ease of use and optimal performance.
* Ensure data accuracy and integrity by validating data sources and performing data quality checks
2. Dashboard Design and Optimization:
* Create intuitive and user-friendly dashboards that effectively present key metrics and trends.
* Implement interactive features, such as drill-down, filters, and slicers to enhance user experience.
* Optimize dashboard performance by analyzing and fine-tuning data queries and visualisation techniques.
* Conduct usability testing and gather feedback from end users to continuously improve dashboards
3. Database Management:
* Have an understanding of database structures and query languages to retrieve relevant data for reporting purposes.
* Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data availability, integrity, and security
4. Troubleshooting and Support:
* Investigate and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, dashboards, and data connectivity.
* Provide timely and effective responses to user inquiries and problem reports.
* Document and track support requests, resolutions, and recurring issues to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Conduct user training and create documentation to enhance user self-sufficiency.
About you:
* Essential:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Commerce, Business or a relevant discipline OR extensive industry practical and demonstrated experience and knowledge in required discipline.
* Experience performing complex analytical and problem-solving activities, including the ability to identify potential issues, business improvement opportunities and compile and present research findings to management.
* Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills that enable you to perform complex analysis and design.
* Strong understanding of database concepts
* Experience in Power BI report development and dashboard design
* Experience with Microsoft SQL development
* Experience with SQL Integration Services and SQL Analysis Services development within Microsoft Visual Studio
* Experience with developing reports from non-SQL data sources (e.g. API, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics)
* Excellent Presentation skills - ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide support to end users.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Desirable:
* Experience with other BI tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
* Experience building/maintaining workflows within Power Automate
* Experience in the supply chain, logistics industry and Transport Management systems (TMS)
* Experience doing basic Level 1 desktop support
