We are a privately-owned property development group based in Maitland. We seek a dedicated in-house Maintenance / Handyperson to oversee a diverse range of residential dwellings spanning the Maitland/Newcastle area. This is a new casual / permanent part time role which you can grow to make your own. Hours are flexible and can be varied to cater your individual needs.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Responsible for a range of repairs and building maintenance tasks, including, painting, plastering, making safe, carpentry, basic tiling.
* Identifying repair and maintenance tasks in need of attention.
* Reactive maintenance as required.
* A focus on WH&S whilst conducting all activities.
* Ability to travel to various sites throughout the Newcastle and Maitland area.
* Communicating the progress and completion of tasks with all stakeholders.
Qualifications & experience
* Experience in the Building industry or previous handy person work is essential.
* Trade qualification not necessary but highly regarded.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Prepared to be flexible with work hours to cater for emergency call outs.
* A current NSW Drivers Licence, appropriate vehicle, and your own tools of the trade.
* A White Card.
* A police-check or the willingness to obtain.
Regular Duties
* Inspect and monitor common area, driveways and carpark areas Rubbish removal and blower vac tidy up around all buildings, regular cleaning of garbage bins
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requirements, (eg. servicing taps, changing light globes and minor repairs) with consideration to the broader maintenance schedule.
* Undertake routine preventative maintenance.
* Coordinate the workload of the annual maintenance/ exterior cleaning of all property buildings.
* Monitor and record stock levels of appliances, materials and equipment.
