The Enterprise Architect is responsible for ensuring that technology solutions within the Funding and Disclosure Reform Program (FAD Program) are strategically aligned with business objectives, legislative requirements, and the broader AEC enterprise architecture.
This role provides architectural leadership, governance, and assurance across all program streams, supporting digital transformation and regulatory uplift.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain the FAD Programs enterprise architecture vision, ensuring alignment with business goals, legislative intent, and AEC technical frameworks.
* Lead the creation and implementation of strategic IT roadmaps, architecture artefacts, and standards for the program.
* Provide expert advice to the FAD Board, solution build teams, and other stakeholders to enable timely, informed technical decisions.
* Oversee architectural governance processes, including review and endorsement of solution designs, technical standards, and patterns.
* Escalate architectural artefacts with broader enterprise impact to the AEC Architecture Board as required.
* Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, developers, and program management to gather requirements and ensure architectural alignment.
* Facilitate workshops and discussions to drive consensus on architectural decisions and technical direction.
* Act as a liaison between business and IT, translating complex technical concepts into business-relevant language.
* Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, applying this knowledge to optimise program outcomes.
* Propose and develop new enterprise patterns, standards, and protocols to support innovation and efficiency.
* Identify high-risk, high-complexity, and high-cost solution components for continuous assurance under the technical assurance framework.
About the Team
The Funding and Disclosure Reform (FAD) Program was established to implement legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme under Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918, increasing transparency and accountability in Australia's electoral system.
The program comprises the Program Management Office Branch, Regulatory Enablement Branch, and Technology Delivery Branch working collaboratively to uplift regulatory capability through new processes, systems, and technology.
Selection Criteria

* Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in large-scale, complex programs, ideally within the Australian public sector.
* Demonstrated ability to design and implement enterprise-wide architecture, including business, data, application, and technology domains.
* Strong understanding of architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), governance processes, and solution assurance.
* Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), integration patterns, and security best practices.
* Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams and influence at all organisational levels.
* Experience supporting regulatory or legislative reform programs.
* Familiarity with the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme and related legislative frameworks.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, or a related field.
