Master Butchers Co-operative Ltd is a multi‐faced organisation that provides rendering, blending, packaging and machinery services to the meat industry. Members of the cooperative consist of retail and wholesale butchers, supermarkets, smallgoods manufacturers, abattoir operators, boning room operators, and seafood and poultry manufacturers/retailers mainly in SA, NT and WA.
Duties and responsibilities
* Utilise rendering equipment to process livestock by‐product materials for the production of tallow, grease, blood meal, and high‐protein bone meal.
* Use production equipment to dry the concentrated protein and ground the product for distribution.
* Operate production machinery, including calibrating equipment to monitoring gauges, making adjustments as required for the production of tallow, grease, blood meal, bone meal and other products.
* Set up cleaning and maintenance schedules to prevent problems by keeping machines in valuable working order in accordance with internal policies.
* Inspect finished products, take samples and undertake product quality control.
* Prepare products for dispatch.
Skills and experience
* At least 2 years full‐time prior experience in the meat production industry.
* An ability to assess and prioritise maintenance, repair and servicing where required.
* Attention to detail in supervision of operations.
