The role of Head Chef is a dynamic opportunity to lead a section of the kitchen at a prestigious heritage destination.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute menus that showcase the authentic charm of the village, enhancing the visitor experience.
* Estimate food requirements, manage inventory, and source suppliers to ensure consistent quality while controlling costs and minimizing waste.
* Analyse food and labour costs to contribute to operational efficiency.
* Maintain quality by monitoring dishes throughout preparation and presentation.
* Prepare and cook various dishes with focus on technique, flavour, and consistency.
* Collaborate with management and fellow staff to discuss food preparation issues, guest feedback, and menu performance.
* Lead and mentor the kitchen brigade, demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and advising team members on procedures and recipes.
* Ensure adherence to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, enforcing hygiene and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
* Contribute to selecting and training new kitchen staff and apprentices.
