Maritime Constructions is a marine contractor with operations in both Western Australia and South Australia. Uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects from design and construction through to commissioning. Projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, underwater pipelines, in Australia and internationally.
We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to assist our HR team and initiatives, fostering a positive company culture, and ensuring alignment with our values in WA. This role will be based in Fremantle and ideal candidates will excel in HR principles, interpersonal skills, and legal knowledge, including Fair Work Act compliance. You will have a thorough understanding of HR laws and the key instruments governing employment arrangements:
Fair Work Act and recent amendments,
National Employment Standards,
Modern Awards,
Employment Contracts, and
Policies and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the HR team, supporting the Head of People, Culture and Safety to manage day-to-day operations
Collaborate with Head of People, Culture and Safety and wider senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's business goals, project-specific objectives and improvement initiatives
Provide guidance on HR matters, including organisational design, talent attraction and workforce management.
Develop and execute strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and career development which is tailored to Maritime Construction's unique needs
Oversee all recruitment and onboarding processes carried out by the Human Resources Coordinator, to ensure the attraction of top-tier talent with specialised skills in marine construction and related fields is maintained
Lead the development and support the implementation of effective induction and training programs, to integrate new hires quickly and enhance employee and team capabilities
Oversee and support Project Managers with the weekly crewing schedule, participating in Crewing Meeting's and ensuring effective utilisation of personnel is achieved
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies
Foster a positive working environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts, and promoting open communication
Conduct investigations into workplace incidents or complaints and provide recommendations for resolution
Utilise HR metrics and data to assess the effectiveness of HR strategies, projects, and initiatives
Assist with the preparation of quarterly HR reports and provide summaries relating to HR activities, data, and general HR information to the Head of People, Culture and Safety
Lead all immigration-related tasks, including application processes, submission of visa applications, compliance with immigration laws, and coordination with relevant immigration lawyers/authorities.
