ICT Consultant (Fed/Gov Sector)
Location: Symonston, ACT
Contract: 3 November 2025 – 23 January 2026 (includes stand-down 12 Dec – 12 Jan)
We are seeking an experienced ICT Consultant to deliver a Scoping Study that will shape the future modernisation of client's work environments. This short-term engagement will directly inform multi-year client's capability uplift and modernisation initiatives.
About the Role
The successful contractor will undertake a structured scoping study to assess the current infrastructure, systems, and security posture and provide a future state roadmap aligned with client's enterprise standards and their Digital Strategy.
Working closely with the Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) SMEs and engineering representatives, you will deliver recommendations that will guide future investment, infrastructure refresh, and potential migration to hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.
Key Deliverables
* Scoping Study Report including:
* Review of current system requirements and alignment to future needs.
* Bill of Materials (BoM) for hardware/software replacement (transitioning Nutanix to VMware Cloud Foundation).
* Project Plan with Gantt chart for infrastructure refresh and capability uplift.
* Fixed price cost estimate for follow-on phases (services, hardware, software, travel).
* Concept design for future hybrid cloud and on-prem architecture.
* Draft & Final Reports with budget inputs and recommendations.
* Weekly Updates and final presentation to key stakeholders.
Ideal Background
We are looking for a consultant with:
* Strong background in ICT infrastructure refresh, cloud migration, and secure systems design.
* Experience with system integration, test environments, and Defence/Digital strategy alignment.
* Familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure (Nutanix, VMware Cloud Foundation).
* Proven ability to deliver strategic scoping studies, technical documentation, and costed roadmaps.

* Location: Symonston, ACT (on-site workspace)
* NV1 or NV2 mandatory
