Primary objective
Provide high level advice, executive support and secretariat services to the General Manager and Executive to achieve successful
outcomes against the division's goals and areas of responsibilities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide coordination across the division for all requests for information from a wide range of stakeholders, including managing
and preparing responses to Ministerial requests, Legislative Assembly Briefs and Estimates Briefs.
2. Coordinate and monitor the standard of all briefings and papers to the General Manager and Executive.
3. Undertake projects as required, including researching and reporting on issues impacting the division.
4. Develop, implement, monitor and review operational procedures to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to work
activities to deliver services more effectively.
5. Act as a contact point for the division, providing high level advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
6. Provide high-level confidential secretarial and administrative services, including managing all correspondence and calendar
entries to and from the General Manager's office to ensure that timeliness and quality is maintained.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills including an ability to understand the political, social and
organisational environment to identify relevant issues and recognise the link between interconnected issues.
2. A demonstrated high level of adaptability and resilience, including the ability to work with initiative and minimal supervision,
managing competing priorities, maintaining integrity and confidentiality and working effectively as part of a team.
3. Extensive experience in the preparation and coordination of high-level correspondence and documentation, including an ability
to research complex issues, conduct detailed evaluation and prepare concise reports.
4. Excellent interpersonal and client focussed service delivery skills that are responsive, professional and solution oriented.
5. High level oral and written communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and
professions, and the ability to gain the cooperation of others to meet deadlines, especially senior staff and executive members.
6. Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and government business systems.
Desirable
1. Experience working within the healthcare sector.
2. Degree/Diploma/Certificate IV in Public Administration, Business Management or other relevant discipline.
