The role of Island Safety and Security Officer is a critical position within our organization, responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our resort, marina, and staff facilities.
* Maintain a safe and secure environment through regular patrols, incident response, regulatory enforcement, and emergency support.
* Assist with crowd control and support departmental managers during busy periods.
* Manage traffic issues including accidents, breakdowns, and issuing of infringements.
* Respond to alarm activations, staff lockouts, and lost/found property reports.
* Perform drug and alcohol testing in line with our policy.
* Act as a first responder for medical assistance and emergency situations.
* Maintain records of on-call personnel and respond to after-hours issues.
* Support administrative tasks and communication logs.
* Manage aviation security access and maintain eligibility for an ASIC.
* Uphold all WHS and compliance policies and procedures.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough and systematic island-wide patrols to identify potential security risks.
* Develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate security threats and promote a culture of safety.
* Collaborate with departmental managers to ensure seamless operation during peak periods.
* Ensure that all incidents are documented and reported in accordance with established procedures.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on security matters to stakeholders.
This full-time role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve our organizational objectives.
