Wildlife Management Professional
The role is based in Adelaide and involves working directly with the Team Leader – South Australia as part of the Avisure Southern Australia team. You will be responsible for conducting wildlife surveys, performing airfield inspections and dispersal, managing wildlife on and around airfields, collating and analyzing data, liaising with clients and stakeholders.
This is a field-based role with some office duties:
- Fieldwork shifts are mostly rostered between 7am and 7pm, with early morning, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.
- Office-based work is generally during standard business hours.
You will receive on-the-job training to meet professional standards. This position requires excellent organisational and observational skills, strong communication skills, reliability, initiative, and ability to prioritise workload. The successful candidate must have a qualification in wildlife management, such as Certificate III or Diploma in Conservation and Land Management, or equivalent with a focus on wildlife.
Highly regarded skills include experience conducting ornithological surveys and wildlife studies, knowledge and experience in vertebrate pest control and wildlife management, experience in stakeholder engagement and public speaking, experience working on airfields or within an aviation environment, Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) Certificate, Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC), Firearms licence – Categories A, B and/or C, First Aid and CPR certification, Proficiency in report writing, data collation, and data analysis, Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
