The Opportunity
This is your chance to join the Workplace Relations and Business Partner team, supporting UniSC's people goals through practical and strategic HR guidance. You'll work alongside line managers across the university, providing expert, timely advice on workplace relations and the day‐to‐day application of policies, practices, and industrial frameworks. As a valued member of the team, you'll collaborate on a variety of people matters, with opportunities to grow your skills and take on increasingly complex workplace relations challenges in a supportive and engaging environment.
You will
* drive and support workplace relations initiatives that strengthen UniSC's people framework;
* promote a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplace that aligns with legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and organisational policies;
* offer clear, practical guidance on workplace and industrial relations matters to support managers and teams; and
* help deliver excellent stakeholder support and contribute to initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
About you

You're confident in giving first‐level advice, helping managers and teams navigate staff matters, and contributing to investigations, policy, and compliance with ease. You enjoy working collaboratively, keeping things organised, and using your attention to detail to maintain accurate records, reports, and correspondence. You're proactive, curious, and ready to grow your skills while making a real difference in creating a fair, safe, and supportive workplace at UniSC.
You will possess
* Experience delivering workplace relations advice, with confidence interpreting Enterprise Agreements, legislation and policies to support fair and compliant outcomes.
* A solid understanding of the Australian industrial relations framework and its application in a practical setting.
* Exposure to employee relations matters such as grievances, misconduct or performance, with an appreciation for procedural fairness.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a natural ability to build trust and rapport.
* Sound judgement and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and provide balanced, practical advice.
* Well‐developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate, confidential records.
* Experience contributing to policy application or improvement, working collaboratively within a broader People and Culture team.
