ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
EREA Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,000 young people in 21 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 9 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in Sydney. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Area Principal is the delegated leader of Geraldton Flexible School, regional and all education and engagement programmes and new schools in Western Australia as they are opened. Each school will employ a Head of Campus who oversees the daily operations of the schools. The role provides operational leadership and oversight of the relevant schools, and holds delegated responsibility from the Regional Director in the areas of Safeguarding, Learning and Pedagogy, Risk, Compliance and HR. The Area Principal also leads in the areas of Flexi Practice, Formation, Identity, Finance, and Land and Infrastructure. The role plays a significant leadership role in terms of growth in the local area, working in partnership with community stakeholders and the National Leadership Team.
The Area Principal is the direct line manager for Heads of Campus and reports directly to the Regional Director. The role receives significant support from a Regional Support Team, particularly in finance, HR, safeguarding, risk, compliance, learning and pedagogy and flexi practice.
In relation to safeguarding, the Area Principal guarantees that all staff members possess a clear and comprehensive understanding of their roles and obligations pertaining to child safeguarding. The Area Principal fosters a safe environment for young people enrolled in their school, ensuring clear communication around policies, procedures and protocols, and cultivates a culture of vigilance and responsibility.
The Area Principal works with the Regional Director in driving the growth plan in accordance with EREA Flexible Schools Strategic Plan in Western Australia.

ABOUT YOU
Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
Proven senior leadership experience, both strategic and operational, characterised by strong organisational, administrative, communication and leadership skills, particularly in relation to areas outlined in this position.
Able to demonstrate the high-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
Appropriate qualifications (such as in Education Leadership) and relevant professional experience.
Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.
Ability to lead, work in, and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility.
