About the role

We have an opportunity for a Chief Engineer to be part of our Aviation Command, State Operations and Emergency Management Command. The position is responsible for managing the Aviation Command Engineering department within a highly regulated legislative and budgetary framework in order to ensure ongoing safe operations.

Essential Criteria

* Diploma in Aeroskills (Mechanical or Avionic) or equivalent industry

- Holder of Class B1 (Focused on B1.1,B1.2 & B1. Turbine fixed wing and helicopters or B2 (Avionics) CASA Part 66 License related to Aviation Command Aircraft.

In addition to the above mentioned salary, the position occupant may be eligible to be paid a $20,000 Skills Shortage Allowance in accordance with "C Skills Shortage Allowance Implementation Guidelines" for a 2-year period (subject to satisfying the relevant eligibility criteria). Please note any extension of this allowance beyond the 2-year period will be subject to further review and delegate approval.

Aviation Command Fleet is heavily modified, and aircraft undergo modifications and continual improvement. Internally, this is managed through a process commonly known as Modifications and Configuration management. This process requires some degree of project management techniques and managing configuration of aircraft. Please state your experience with example of any modification/s you have handled.

Target Question 2:

As Chief Engineer, you will lead a team of about 15 highly skilled Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers across multiple categories. Describe a situation in which you identified a human-resource-related performance issue within your team. How did you address the issue, what strategies you implement and what was the final outcome?
