About this Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Rates team on a permanent basis.
As the Rates Revenue and Debt Recovery Officer you will lead Council's supplementary rates process and debt recovery functions, including the creation of new property records, assigning of street numbering, issuing of notices and undertaking debt recovery activities.
You will provide advice and assistance to stakeholders regarding Council rates and revenue guidelines, debt management related functions and processes, whilst maintaining property records within Council's property database.
About You
For this role we are seeking someone who has a background in finance and administration with excellent interpersonal skills to be able to deal with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders.
You will also have:
* Relevant finance and administration experience and work skills commensurate with the requirements of the role.
* Demonstrated experience in a rates and revenue, property, and/or valuations environment would be an advantage.
* Experience in Local Government service delivery, with knowledge of the Local Government Act 1989, Local Government Act 2020 and Valuation of Land Act 1960, or the ability to quickly obtain is desirable.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience in working with computerised systems to support the rates revenue functions including MS Office and in particular Excel and Word
