Head Medical are seeking post Core Surgical Trainees (CST) for General Surgery opportunities located in Rockhampton - one of Queensland's largest regional referral centres.

* Work in a 305-bed major regional referral hospital with accredited surgical training
* Exposure to high elective and emergency surgical volumes (9,600+ elective and 3,800+ emergency surgeries annually)
* Active involvement in teaching, registrar development and research
* Easy access to the Capricorn Coast and Great Keppel Island
* Competitive remuneration up to $169,389 p.a. (commensurate with experience)
The Role
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and the main referral hospital for Central Queensland.
The hospital features four operating theatres, two procedure rooms, and a 6-bed ICU/HDU.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing surgical inpatients and assisting in operative procedures
* Supporting outpatient clinics and peri-operative care
* Supervising and mentoringmedical staff
* Participating in clinical meetings, education sessions and case presentations
* Contributing to safe handover, discharge planning and multidisciplinary collaboration
* Providing out-of-hours coverage as part of a shift roster
You will work with strong consultant support, while gaining valuable autonomy and leadership experience. The role also includes supporting the visiting Urology team and participation in the General Surgery on-call roster.
