Join our Operating Theatres Team
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scrub Scout Nurse to join our friendly and high-performing surgical team. This role is ideal for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong clinical skills, and vibrant energy to the theatre environment. We're looking for a confident and engaging professional who thrives in a fast‐paced setting and enjoys being part of a collaborative, supportive team.
About the role
Duties for the role will include:
* Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, ensuring their proper sterilization, and assisting the surgical team during operations.
* Plan, prioritise and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs.
* Recognising, responding and appropriately escalating clinical deterioration, and provide complex care at the bedside of the perioperative patient.
* Recognise, respond and report other incidents within the department.
* Actively participate in Quality and Safety Improvement Projects.
* Support nursing/midwifery practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates.
* Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will be invaluable assets in this role.
About you
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible, a current practising certificate.
* Proven scrub scout experience across a range of surgical specialties (minimum 3 years) delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.
* A warm, energetic, and professional approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work efficiently, remain composed under pressure, demonstrate appropriate professional behaviours, open to feedback and initiate self‐reflection.
