Lake Macquarie City Council is one of the largest employers of training positions in the Hunter region. The Trainee Recruitment Support Officer is part of Council's Early Careers Program designed to provide you with on-the-job experience, mentoring and support from highly skilled professionals, all while you complete a formal qualification. ABOUT THE JOB

Join us for a two-year traineeship where you'll complete a Certificate IV in Human Resources while gaining hands-on experience in recruitment and talent programs. As a Trainee Recruitment Support Officer, you'll learn the full end-to-end recruitment process and play a key role in supporting Council's early careers initiatives.

Training will be provided both on-the-job and online. You'll start by mastering recruitment systems and processes in local government, then expand your knowledge of early careers programs. By the end of your traineeship, you'll be confident in:

* Managing recruitment and talent attraction processes and systems
* Coordinating early careers programs (trainees, cadets, apprentices, work experience)
* Handling administrative workflows and delivering excellent customer service
* Organising meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes
* Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders

The position is located at Lake Macquarie City Council offices and may involve travel within Lake Macquarie. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a nine-day fortnight.

* Receive a wage whilst studying towards a qualification starting from $855.38 per week plus 12% superannuation

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for people who:

* Have completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
* Are interested in Human Resources and recruitment
* Are committed to completing the training course requirements over two years
* Enjoy working in a team
* Demonstrate strong initiative, good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
