The Department for Infrastructure and Transport plays a vital role connecting people and places in South Australia by delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.
Public Transport South Australia (PTSA), a division in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, is committed to providing well-connected and customer-focused services for mass transit movements that can be delivered safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
The Customer Service Officer (Trams) provides a connected tram service through exceptional customer experience, which is responsive, prompt, and accurate. Classified as Safety Critical Worker Category 3, the Customer Service Officer (Trams), performs a range of functions for Adelaide's tram services, including customer information, first aid services where required, revenue assurance officers (ticket checking) and points of information for other transport options
About You
You will be mature, proactive, and demonstrate a responsible approach to work, with initiative and problem-solving capability. You will have experience in front-line, customer-oriented and safety focused environments. You will have a good understanding of customer service and of conflict resolution techniques. You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and accurate advice to people at all levels in a professional manner.
You will have:
* A current unrestricted Class C or above Drivers Licence (essential).
* First Aid Qualification or the willingness to undertake training to achieve First Aid Qualification.
* Sound knowledge of tram service localities and of transport connections.
* Previous experience dealing with customers and the ability to demonstrate sound conflict resolution techniques.
* Capability to render assistance to customers with special accessibility needs.
* Availability to undertake shift work, including, mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
* Safety Critical Worker Category 3 clearance and subject to pre-employment and periodic health assessments, in accordance with the National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safety Workers.
* Fitness for duty as a Category 3 Rail Safety Worker maintained.
* All Rail Safety Workers must carry out duties in accordance with the Rail Safety National Law (SA) Act 2012.
* A National Police Check is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* A valid Working with Children Check is required prior to employment and is required to be maintained throughout employment.

The role is safety critical and requires all successful applicants to meet pre-employment assessments, along with an interview, satisfactory criminal history check, medical examination and reference checks.

Remuneration
CSO Grade 2 – MAS63 Award - $36.70 per hour
