* Salary range: $4167.80 to $4534.70 p.f. (AO5)
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
* 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
Step into a role that safeguards the wellbeing of an entire health service. As the Fire Safety Coordinator for the Townsville Hospital and Health Service, you'll lead the delivery of a professional, proactive fire safety management program across a diverse and dynamic healthcare environment.
You'll be the driving force behind high‑quality fire safety training, prevention strategies, and building safety inspections, ensuring every facility meets legislative, standards-based, and Queensland Health requirements. Your expertise will help shape a culture of preparedness, supporting the Emergency Preparedness and Continuity Management Unit with informed, practical fire safety strategies that protect staff, patients, and the broader community.
Requirements:
* Highly desirable:
o To fulfil the requirements of this role it is essential for the incumbent to possess and maintain Fire Safety Advisor certification (PUAWER001B-008B). If not currently possessed, a commitment to obtain this qualification (and maintain validity throughout employment) within 3 months of commencement may be considered.
o Completion of Australasian Interservice Incident Management System (AIIMS) modules.
o Certificate IV – Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
* Travel may be required in this position, both within the THHS and throughout Queensland. This may include travel by small aircraft or ferry/barge.
* Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
* Probation period may apply.
* Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
