The Team
The Wilfred Lopes Centre (WLC) is Tasmania's only purpose‐built forensic hospital that provides specialist forensic mental health input in a high‐secure inpatient setting.
Teamwork is essential and all members of the WLC team have a vital role to play in the provision of quality treatment and care in a multidisciplinary context. By working as a team, we:
* Ensure that WLC maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.
* Provide individual patient care, treatment, safety, and recovery.
* Maintain links between the patient, significant others, and the community.
* Ensure the safety of patients, members of staff and the broader community.
The Role
Maintain a high standard of cleaning in allocated areas, removal of garbage and collection/distribution of linen.
You will need
* Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a hospital environment.
* Awareness of, and familiarity with, equipment currently in use within the commercial cleaning industry.
* A basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and solutions.
* Understanding of safe manual handling techniques.
* Ability to work effectively individually or in a team environment and to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part‐time, day worker, shift worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
Operational Health Officer Level 1: $57,130 to $62,486 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
